It Started with a Dream
The vision for Econfina Sporting Club was born from years of friendship and shared passion between Stephen Kovac and Capt. Greg DeVault. Both avid outdoorsmen, they spent countless days fishing together, always dreaming of one day creating a place where people could come to experience the best that the Big Bend area of Florida has to offer.Â
Their shared love for the sport and the region sparked countless conversations about what their ideal sporting club would look like—one that offered not just world-class fishing and hunting but also a premier experience that guests would treasure for a lifetime.

The Dream: 2019
That dream began to take shape when a prime property in the Big Bend area became available. After years of talking about it, Stephen and Greg seized the opportunity to turn their vision into reality.
the Vision: 2019-2024
Their goal was to create a destination that combined their expertise with the natural beauty of the area, offering an unparalleled experience for those who appreciate the outdoors.
Open: 2024-Present
From that moment, Econfina Sporting Club was built on a foundation of passion, dedication, and a desire to offer something truly exceptional to every guest who walks through its doors.
